Principal Conductor
Philip Mackenzie is currently Principal Conductor of the London Mozart Symphony Orchestra and the Amadeus Orchestra, Principal Guest Conductor of the Crimean State Symphony Orchestra and Musical Director of Stockport Youth Orchestra. He also frequently works with the Manchester Camerata and his most recent CD with them was described by Gramophone Magazine as "first class" and was "highly recommended" by the Penguin CD guide.
Other orchestras with which Philip has worked with include Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Bombay Chamber Orchestra, the Pardubice Chamber Orchestra, the Manchester Concert Orchestra, and the Kwa Zulu Natal Symphony Orchestra.
Recently, Philip conducted the Moscow TV and Radio State Orchestra and the chorus from the Kirov Opera in a sell-out performance of Mozart's Requiem in Moscow.
As a choral trainer he has achieved notable successes with the Manchester Bach Choir, Exeter Choral Society and many others. Philip has taught conducting at Bath Spa University College and Newcastle University.
